Osborne Motor Bodies are truck builders based in Grey Street Bassendean and are a part of the WA Truck and Trailer Group. As leaders in the field they offer a premium truck body fabrication service for all industries from small trades, to government and corporations, to the resource sector with their popular 4x4 trucks.

The Brief

When Osborne Motor Bodies approached Blue Kelpie, their existing website was a single page with outdated content and design. The new website was required to accurately present the various services OMB offered, to showcase the work they do, and to utilise news items to further engage with their audience on social media.

The creation of a custom post type was required to present all latest projects on the site, with a simple and easy to use interface in the backend. This was required to allow the OMB team to add and edit their own content.

Design

The web design for Osborne Motor Bodies is strong and bold, creating a graphical representation of the strength and quality of their work. The hero shots on all pages place OMB’s work front and centre, with a bold overlaid title font that utilises transparency and a stroked outline to allow the images to remain highly visible.

A number of design motifs were employed throughout the site, all making use of the colours used in the newly rebranded logo. The web design balances strength and space to create well formed webpages that present all content in a clear, and easy to read format.

WordPress Development

The Osborne Motor Bodies website is developed with WordPress and includes some development work that allows for the addition of a custom post type for their Latest Projects. This presents the OMB team with a simple form in the backend where they are able to enter text and add images for each new project upon completion. This content is then applied to design templates for single views, an archive that shows all projects, and a content slider on the homepage.

The Latest Projects are readily accessible from the homepage and the main navigation menu. The team at OMB have been able to easily maintain their own content for the posts, adding new content for their audience and continued value for their SEO.

The Outcome

The new website for Osborne Motor Bodies was delivered and well received by the client – they went on to ask us to build another five websites! The design is unique and well suited to the industry, creating an online presence that makes OMB stand out from the rest.
